We're thrilled to share that House of Heacock has been featured in The New York Times, spotlighting the restoration of a sculptural Shana Kellogg residence in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, once overlooked and now reimagined as a warm, livable home for owner Mel Meagher of Unfold Projects.
Megan Heacock White of House of Heacock served as the interior designer on the project, shaping every room to honor the home's organic architectural bones while bringing in a softer, more contemporary sense of comfort. Curved wood ceilings, custom furniture and a restrained material palette carry through each space, letting the home's original architecture remain the star.
Every material choice reflects a commitment to regeneration. The space features reclaimed teak flooring, locally made sustainable tiles, and plumbing fixtures made with recycled materials. Adding a deeply personal touch, Megan designed the custom furnishings, which local fabricators built using upcycled materials salvaged directly from the site's demolition.
